Owning a small gym can be unpredictable, but your gym's insurance shouldn’t be. We cover what many providers charge extra for or don’t cover at all, however we want to keep you informed by explaining the few things that aren’t covered.
Like many other gym insurance providers, we don't cover the following:
(Curious about what we do cover? View that coverage here.)
These activities are not included on your policy as they pose a higher risk for injuries and liability claims.
We can cover other kids' classes on all our policies.
Because swimming pools come with their own unique risks for drowning and injury, they fall outside of a gym's coverage.
But we do cover cold plunge pools.
Perhaps no explanation needed, but guns, archery, and shooting ranges are not eligible coverage on a gym owners' policy.
Find HEMA coverage on our Martial Arts policies.
Not the same as 'childcare' services, a licensed daycare has other insurance requirements that differ from a gym business.
But offering childcare, or allowing kids onsite is okay on all our policies.
Babies and dogs on site are okay, but "Mommy and Me" and "Goat Yoga" style classes are excluded.
We cover kids' classes for kids ages 2 years old and up.
Some recovery treatments are more risky than others, and are not eligible for coverage.
Other popular recovery therapies, such as cold plunge and saunas are covered on all our policies.
Physical therapy requires medical malpractice insurance, which falls outside of coverage.
Most rock climbing walls exceed our height restrictions and we can't cover climbing gyms.

Claims happen, and we don't believe you should be penalized forever. Our limit for past claims is three years, which is very short compared to other gym insurance providers. We'll also ask you to explain more about the claim to us. If it was a property claim (and most are), then we can usually get approval to waive our 3 year limit on past claims. If it was a liability claim, it's still worth telling us your story. In most cases, we're able to make an exception and help you get affordable coverage.
We still might be able to help you find coverage. It's worth reaching out and seeing if you get a quote with us. Our team contacts everyone who gets declined in our application, so we'll discuss your unique situation with you and see if there's a way we can still help you get covered.
No! Cold plunge pools are not swimming pools. Cold plunge pools are automatically covered on your policy with us.
