Our 24-hour gym insurance is designed for gyms that allow members to train outside staffed hours. Allowing members to use your gym equipment after hours makes total business sense. Hours that you're closed are hours you're not making money. And if you don't need to staff the gym, that's even more money saved on overhead costs. Every gym owner knows they need to have general liability insurance for their gym during open hours, and if you're going to offer unsupervised gym access at your gym it's a good idea to learn how general liability applies to 24/7 gyms.

Most gym owners think of 24/7 hour gym access for 'after hours', or late at night. But if your members are using key fobs, door codes, or an app to enter the gym, then you'll want to have 24-hour gym insurance coverage. Even though these technologies track who is coming and going, we all know it just takes one person to let someone else walk in alongside to create a problem.

24-hour gyms have a higher insurance risk profile than staffed gyms due to supervision gaps and most traditional insurance companies don't want to insure gyms with unsupervised hours. Even if you already have general liability coverage for your gym, most standard gym liability policies exclude coverage for unsupervised gym hours. You'll want to double check your policy to ensure you have coverage, and that you're meeting the requirements of the insurance provider to make sure you're actually covered. They may require you to have a special waiver, specific sign in protocols, and explicit emergency procedures posted in the gym.

Prices for our 24-hour gym insurance coverage are calculated as a 15% addition to the cost of your general liability policy. We try to keep our pricing simple so that you understand what you're paying for, and why. If you're getting quotes from multiple insurance providers, they may also calculate your price based on whether you're using key fobs and the number of after-hours members you're admitting.

Landlord and COI requirements for 24-hour gyms

Most gym landlords will require proof of general liability coverage when you move into your gym's space, and unstaffed hours are no exception. if you're planning to be open 24/7, your landlord will also want to confirm that your policy covers you during the entire day.
